Building your community and supporting you in your academic pursuits
UC Merced Student Dens provide opportunities for UC Merced undergraduate students to develop friendships with fellow students, engage the resources of a world-class research university, and connect to the vibrant community of students, faculty and staff at the heart of the UC Merced experience.
Student dens provide opportunities for students to develop:
Each Student Den will have its own virtual environment using Microsoft Teams, a unified communication and collaboration platform that combines persistent chat, video meetings, and application integration. Microsoft Teams is offered at no cost to all students, staff, and faculty at UC Merced.
How Do I Join a Den?
As an undergraduate, you were invited to your core Den at the start of the year. This invitation will remain open throughout the entire academic year. To join, all you need to do is download MS Teams desktop application, and log in with your UC Merced netID/password. Once logged in, you will see your Den appear in "My Teams" section of the tool and you can begin connecting with your fellow students!
What Can I Do in My Den?
UC Merced has designed the Student Den Program to support the educational success and engagement of our undergraduate students, particularly in this remote learning environment. As a virtual community, the Den provides you with a space to connect and chat with your fellow students. As a university application, the Den provides key resources and services at your fingertips with integrations directly in the MS Team environment.
