In Spring 2021, students will be assigned to a virtual School Den based on your academic interests, such as major or affiliation with one of UC Merced’s many student programs. You’ll also have the opportunity to create or join other virtual Dens that connect you with others that have shared interests and passions.
Your Den will be supported and led by Den Guides (UC Merced staff) and Den Assistants (UC Merced students) who will be your central point of contact for tapping into UC Merced experiences and resources. Each Den will also be staffed by a Career Specialist, Academic Advisor, Librarian and School Student Services staff. Dens will offer online events and programming as you navigate life at a research university.
Look for an MS Teams invitation to your Den in your UC Merced email on Friday, January 15, 2021. For more information on how to connect with your Den, click the 'Connect with Your Den' button below.
Students who wish to switch Dens based on a change in their academic program may do so by leaving their current Den team (learn how here) and by selecting the 'join' link for their new Den below.
Den Guide is the assigned central point of contact for students within the Den, who facilitates their healthy interaction with University activities, programs, services, and resources. UC Merced faculty and staff serving as Den Guides receive training that includes information about campus resources, opportunities and strategies to support student success.
Resources are student services and other campus support resources already available to UC Merced students – more information can be found at success.ucmerced.edu. Throughout the semester, Den-specific workshops will allow students to access support services specific to their academic program and interests.
