Quick Guide for Studying

Common Study Mistakes

  • Studying with the wrong people

Getting Organized

  • Create a weekly schedule

  • Track all deadlines and any important reminders in one place

  • Stop storing too many files and only keep what is important study material

  • Use a Task Organizer

How much time should be dedicated to studying?

  • 1 course= 6-9 hours of studying per week

    • For every hour you spend in class, it is recommended that students dedicate 3 hours outside of class studying for that specific course.

Study Methods

  •  Speak out loud

    • 50% more likely to remember things you repeat out loud.

  • Teach what you have learned

    • Test your knowledge by teaching out to someone else.

  • Draw Diagrams

    • Helps with visualizing information that can be difficult to describe.

  • Develop Flashcards

  • Study in a Group

    • Understand the subject better by engaging and learning material together.
